A new marine version of Google Earth was launched in February that according to one of the data contributors, UK Government agency Natural England, will enable users to discover an 'amazing 3-D underwater world from their computers'. Perhaps with more delelopment the new 'Ocean in Google Earth' facil-ity, accessible via the free, may also prove a useful tool for container ship operators wishing to keep tabs on the floating islands of mothballed boxships.
