Cma Cgm Wins Lattakia Concession

The Syrian Government has awarded a 10-year concession to manage its container terminal in Lattakia to a consortium owned 51 by CMA CGM's Terminal Link and 49 by a local company called Souria Holdings. Last year Lattakia handled 570,000TEU, a 21 increase since 2006. Starting in July 2009, CMA CGM plans to build up its capacity to one million TEU by 2012, building on the terminal's existing 972m quay currently dredged down to between 11.8m and 13.3m.
