The effect of mesh removal and selective neurectomy on persistent postherniotomy pain.

To the Editor:We read with interest the recent article about surgical treatment of persistent postherniotomy pain by Aasvang et al. Their prospective cohort study of 21 patients constitutes another (but not the first or only) level 2a study in the growing body of evidence concerning surgical treatment of postherniotomy pain. This is correctly described as a subject of utmost clinical and socioeco-nomic importance. Therefore, we would like to obtain some more information that we are missingin the article.
