Terminal operators' profit down

Global terminal operators again performed well financially last year, despite the recession. DP World (DPW), HPH, PSA and HHLA all saw their revenue and profits decline, but still maintained healthy profit margins in contrast to their ocean carrier customers. Of the four groups, Singapore-headquartered PSA performed the best. Its revenue only fell by 12.7% compared to the year before, to USD2.7 billion, on the back of a 9.9% decline in box volumes, to 56.9 million TEU.
