BAL to expand Africa presence

Dominique Lafont, executive vice president of Paris-based BoIIore Africa Logistics (BAL), the pan-African freight transport and port operating company, has outlined plans to fill its operating gaps in West Africa and denied that CMA CGM's African liner division, Delmas, was an acquisition target. Bollore sold Delmas four years ago and while BAL still handles a significant amount of the shipping line's cargo in West Africa, the executive declared that his company had expanded significantly without the help of Delmas.
