PO orders two ferries for Dover-Calais route

P&O has recently ordered two new 49,000GT vehicle/passenger ferries to service a route between Dover, UK and Calais, France. The 2,000-passenger ferries will have the capacity to carry around 180 freight vehicles and up to 195 tourist vehicles over 2,700 lane metres of vehicle space. The 210-metre vessels will be built at STX Europe's Rauma facility and will be delivered in 2010 and 2011. MacGregor has won the order to supply Ro-Ro outfits onboard the two cross-Channel ferries.
