Northwest European producers continue to operate capro- lactam plants at lower rates, which in turn has tightened amsul supply. Operating rates are estimated to be an aver- age of 70pc in the region. A number of buyers have booked ahead under contract deals to secure tonnes, which has re- duced spot availability within the region. Europe is therefore likely to have less availability to export outside of Europe.
