OPEC forecasts lower demand from the cartel in 2015.

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has forecast global oil demand growth of 1.2 MM b/d for 2015 in its latest monthly oil report, but is not proposing to increase output that year in response. With non-OPEC supply expected to grow by 1.3MM b/d to 57MM b/d the same year, the cartel's Vienna secretariat said that "The above forecasts suggest a demand for OPEC crude of 29.4MM b/d in 2015, a decline of 300K b/d from the current year...therefore, even if next year's world economic growth turns out to be better than expected and crude oil demand outperforms expectations, OPEC will have sufficient supply to provide to the market."
