Many thanks to the talented foot and ankle physicians who were willing to share their perspectives represented here. This process has been overwhelmingly educational, and I anticipate that every reader will gain some degree of clinically relevant knowledge. Each author contributed time and energy to eloquently translate their surgical skills to paper, so that we might imitate their experiences to reliably improve our patients' outcomes. Forefoot corrective surgery can be intimidating as surgical techniques are highly variable and meeting patient expectations can be difficult. Even with experience and understanding, surgical application can sometimes be unpredictable. From the early fundamentals established by the pioneers of forefoot surgery to the latest techniques currently emerging, these articles are met to provide insight into some of the most popular contemporary hallux valgus surgical methods.
