Die fossile Holzgattung Agathoxylon Hartig im Nusplinger Plattenkalk (Ober-Kimmeridgium, Schw?bische Alb)

Based on charred wood remains (charcoal) we describe the first evidence of the fossil wood-genus Agathoxylon Hartig from the Upper Jurassic (Kimmeridgian) of Nusplingen. Changes of anatomical details during charring and the relatively small size of the specimens render it impossible, however, to assign the material to any one of the known species in that genus or to describe a new species.
