Court probes Traigura-Nyrstar pre-takeover ties

Belgium's Corporate Court has permitted a panel of experts to investigate the relationship between zinc smelter Nyrstar NV and trader Traigura prior to the smelting company's slide into near-bankruptcy and eventual takeover. The court's decision was handed down on Friday October 30, according to Nyrstar. A panel of three independent experts will look at whether transactions between what was Nyrstar and Traigura were done "at arm's length" and under normal commercial conditions.
