Indonesia: Tyre production to rise in 2006

THE production of tyres in Indonesia is expected to increase 9.3% year-on-year to 69.6 million units in 2006 due to growing demand at home and abroad, reports Asia Pulse. The country expects to export 31 million units this year valued at US$600m - 10.6% higher than last year's exports. Apparently, the association of tyre producers (APBI) does not expect the predicted slump in the country's automotive market this year to affect the tyre industry.
