Gas fitter imprisoned for unregistered and unsafe work

A self-employed gas fitter has been imprisoned for one year after he carried out unsafe gas work while pretending to be registered with Gas Safe. Between October 2013 and September 2014, Marc Murrie carried out gas work in two properties in West Yorkshire having told the homeowners that he was on the Gas Safe Register1. His defective work included inappropriate gas fittings and defective flue joints.
