Tranvic Group, a major Chinese producer of vanadium pentoxide (V2O5), began a month-long maintenance program on one of its production lines on May 20, market sources have told Fastmarkets. “This is planned maintenance and will cause a reduction of around 400 tonnes of V2O5 [output] in total,” a source familiar with the issue told Fastmarkets. The southwestern China-based company typically produces 1,200- 1,300 tonnes per month of V2O5, Fastmarkets understands.
