A cause for celebration

As you know, we celebrated the 150-year anniversary of the profession in 2012 and with the Health Visiting Implementation Plan building its head of steam and the School Nurse Development Plan following, albeit more slowly, we still have cause for celebration in 2013.Last year represented many things. For me, it was not just a chance to wallow in nostalgia, but also to critically analyse then and now. What was the context? What were the issues? How were they overcome? Who was responsible and what was the tipping point? It was not just time to pause and see where we were on the road but to see who our companions were. It was also a chance to check the compass/recheck/set the bearings, restock and set the pace for the group leaving a trail for others to follow.
