The article is devoted to the problem of Ukrainian ports' terminal capacity enlargement. This year freight turnover of ports is supposed to be augmented from 130 mn to 150 mn tons. It is necessary to improve interaction 6t ports between themselves and with other means of transportation. Besides, it is planned to commission new terminals to attain maximum volumes of goods processing. In particular, additional complex to transfer oil from tank cars would be put into operation in Yuzhnyi port. It is envisaged to open several new combined routes Illychevsk -Saint Petersburg, Kiev -Katowice, and China - European countries through Ukraine to attract cargo traffic to Ukrainian ports. Placing into service of Viking contrailer train that carries automobile trailers with containers at platforms by the route Illychevsk -. Klaipeda in February serves the same end.
