Oil and petrochemicals

The article analyzes oil and petrochemicals' market in the world, Russia, and Ukraine. The level of prices for oil and petrochemicals has decreased in the world in September versus August. For example, level of average prices for Ural oil dropped by 7 percent and constituted USD/MT 190-195 as on the end of the month against the range of USD/MT 205-210 in the beginning of September. Average prices for gasoline in September 2003 also reduced by roughly 18 percent and made up about USD/MT 265-270 as on the end of the month against indexes of USD/MT 315-320 in the beginning of the month. Average prices for gasoil made up about USD/MT 240-245 as on the end of the month if compared with USD/MT 245-250 in the beginning of September. Average prices for oil and gasoil on the petrochemical market of Russia as on the end of September made up the following indices: RUR/MT, 12,400-12,800 in the end of the month versus RUR/MT 12,300-12M500 for A-95 gasoline, correspondingly RUR/MT 11,300-11,600 in the end of the month versus RUR/MT 11,000-11,300 for A-92 gasoline, RUR/MT 8,900-9,200 versus RUR/MT 8,700-9,100 for A-76 gasoline, and RUR/MT 7,600-8,000 versus RUR/MT 7,800-8,200 for gasoil. According to the results of the month average prices on Ukraine's wholesale market of oil products augmented by UAH/MT 55-215 (2-12 percent percent)for all kinds of petrochemicals in September 2003. the prices herewith were as follows on the domestic market of Ukraine as on the end of September: A-95 gasoline - UAH/MT 2,1500-2,4500, A-92 gasoline -UAH/MT 2,150-2,360, -76 gasoline -UAH/MT 2,050-2,170, and gasoil UAH/MT 1,940-2,090.
