The A.P. Moller - Maersk Group is one of the worlds largest shipping groups as well as one of Denmark's most significant industrial groups. Celebrating its century anniversary in 2004 the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group started in the Danish town of Svendborg where Arnold Peter with his father Captain Peter Moller went from door to door to sell shares in their to-be steamship company. Constant care, second-to-none ser-vice and reliability became trade mark of the A.P. Moller Group which today employs more than 60,000 people in over 100 countries (350 offices). The fleet includes great diversity of type and capacity from large container vessels and crude oil carriers over sophisticated gas carriers and cable laying vessels to powerful off shore vessels and tugs - while a multitude of activities include exploration for and production of oil and gas, shipbuilding, container buidling, industry, supermarkets and IT services.
