Can soldier flies replace fish protein in fish feeds?

After decades of work, researchers at the University of Georgia believe that black soldier flies (Hermetia illucens) can be a viable alternative to fish meal in aquaculture diets. Catfish grow well on soldier fly larvae, and other species such as tilapia and rainbow trout have also been fed the pre-pupae.
