The report of FranceAgriMer released on Nov 9 says that exports soft wheat from France may decease in the 2021-22 marketing year. This is due to expected shift to use of corn in animal feed after a series of significant hikes in wheat prices and sharpened competition in the global grain market. The total shipping volume of French soft wheat within the EU country is expected to average some 7.8 million tonnes compared with 8 mmt supplied last marketing year. The reduction is due to lower sales to animal feed makers in Benelux countries and Spain. Local use of soft wheat by animal feed makers will amount to 4.8 mmt against 5.2 mmt last year, FranceAgriMer says.
