Kernel and USPA to launch $100 million infrastructure development project at Chornomorsk port

The Ministry of Infrastructure and the international grain trader Kernel held negotiations about the development of the infrastructure of the Ukraine's seaport of Chornomorsk and agreed to launch a number of projects worth over $100 million aimed at stepping up the port's cargo turnover. The projects will include reconstruction of existing berths, construction of new port facilities, and expansion of approach railway lines. The two companies have already reached the preliminary agreement on the implementation of a public-private partnership in upgrading the hydrotechnical, storage and railway infrastructure of the Chornomorsk port. The project documentation and investment evaluation are underway at the moment. The documents stipulating the mutual obligations between the state and the private investor are planned to be signed starting from 2Q 2022.
