The Asia-Pacific market for polyolefins appears to be easing. This is despite the lack of any bearish market factors in sight for polyvinyl chloride (PVC), with the prices of general-purpose resins looking set to stay high. Linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE) operations in the Gulf of Mexico are now back to normal for the most part after a force majeure was declared on these polyolefin facilities due to the cold snap that hit back in February.
