The U. S. appliance motor market

The use of electric motors is common throughout the average home. They can be found in all major appliances, including clothes washers, clothes dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, microwaves, and air-conditioners. Additionally, they can be found in computers, garage door openers, exercise equipment, electric fans, toys, exhaust hoods in the kitchens, vents in the bathrooms, hair dryers, power hand-tools, and in tabletop tools (such as table saws, jigsaws, and routers). Chart 1 shows the percent of motor sales in the U.S. for major household appliances.
