Rallis clocks 8% rise in Q2 agchem sales

Rallis India registered a 7.8% rise in sales at its Crop Care division, comprising agrochemicals, to Rs 7,030 million ($93.6 million at the current rate) for its second quarter ended September 30th. The seeds business fetched Rs 250 million ($3.3 million), marking an erosion of nearly 66% over the corresponding period last year. Consolidated sales for the quarter inched up by less than a percent to Rs 7,280 million ($97 million). The considerable decline in seed sales meant that contribution of agrochemicals to the company’s revenue increased to 96.6% (89.9% during the same period last year).
