Brazil sets record year for biological crop protection registrations

The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture set an annual record of biological crop protection product approvals classi?ed as low impact products in 2020. The number of biological or “low impact” product approvals totalled 95 last year, the Ministry says. The record follows the latest batch issued by the Ministry’s crop health and agricultural inputs department via Act No 70, which lists the 56 most recent formulated chemical and biologicals-based product approvals, all granted late last year. Of those 19 were “low impact” or biological products, three of which were based on new active ingredients. The rest were based on biological substances that are already available in other approved products.
