Since the Global Financial Crisis, large-scale organisational change has become a way of life for many businesses across the globe. Many organisations have been forced to relook at the way they conduct their business, and in some instances, have had to radically transform in order to survive. Many of these change initiatives have unfortunately failed to deliver the lofty promises of increased profitability, improved shareholder return, cost and waste reduction, or increased customer satisfaction. A common issue running through all of these failures is the board's and CEO's lack of understanding of the power of the collective human system and organisational culture to obstruct planned strategic initiatives at implementation.
