European issue of the new Newsweek printed in Poland

Now that US news magazine Newsweek has only been available on the internet for more than a year, a paper version is published once again from the beginning of March. The IBT Media group announced that the new issue was meant to be a high-quality print product with a better paper and printing quality than its competitor magazines. A spokesperson told EUWID that the European issue would be printed by Quad/Graphics Europe, a subsidiary of US printing group Quad/Graphics, at the Polish Wyszkow plant. As early as 4 March, production started, and although a total circulation of 70,000 copies is planned for the initial phase, the aim is to increase the circulation to 100,000 copies for the USA and another 100,000 copies for the rest of the world. While industry experts expect that around 40,000 copies could be printed at the Polish Wyszkow facility, Quad/Graphics was not prepared to comment on this estimate.
