Origin Agritech opens new sub to expand nutrition-enhanced maize production

Chinese agricultural biotechnology company Origin Agritech(Beijing)has established a subsidiary in the country's Hainan province to expand its production capacity for nutrition-enhanced maize.Origin notes that the wholly-owned subsidiary will focus on research,besides maize feed and seed production,"by taking advantage of the three corn growing seasons per year".The company highlights that it has already initiated contract growing of over 50,000 mu(3,333.3 ha)of maize feed for the ongoing growing season,with"significant"growth expected for the next season.
