Maybe you think of scabiosa as having a delicate, garden-flower look—or maybe you think of it as a summer field flower, a little on the scrappy side. You might rely on it especially in wedding work, for a certain shade of blue that can be hard to come by, especially in round, mass flowers—but then again, you might know it as a flower that comes in a range of hues, from ivory to burgundy to salmon-pink. You might assume that it is short-lived in the vase, or you might have found that it can last aslong as 10 or 12 days.
