摘要

The concept of pulse neutron logging (PNL) was proposed by Flerov in 1956. Realization of the PNL method consists in irradiation of the rock surrounding the well by pulse-periodic flux of fast neutrons generated by a portable accelerating tube (AT). Detection of thermal neutrons and gamma-rays is carried out during pauses between neutron pulses. The parameter to be measured, which is correlated with stratum properties, is the temporal decrement of the thermal neutron flux density. This makes it possible to distinguish oil and water according to their degree of mineralization. Experimental and theoretical research is also performed aimed at development of apparatus-methodical complexes (AMC) for determination of the carbon-oxide content of the stratum according to intensity either of the gamma-radiation generated as a result of neutron inelastic scattering or induced activity and also according to delayed or fission neutrons of fissile elements.
