The L-infinity-error estimate for the finite element solution of nonlinear elliptic problem with a source term is discussed. The lumped mass discretization method is used in the discretization and the error estimate O(h(2)vertical bar logh vertical bar) in L-infinity-norm is obtained. (c) 2005 Elsevier Inc.
