IPL secured 1.6mn t of urea in its 11 November tender, suck- ing up most of the supply able to ship before the end of 2021 and relieving the pressure on domestic stocks. A gap of several weeks is likely before the next tender, which will seek urea for January shipment. India usually takes a break from tenders between December and March but – depending on the pace of sales over the next months – will likely need another tender to rebuild inventories.
