Seventh Latin American harmonisation seminar

The seventh Latin American seminar on the harmonisation and control of veterinary medicines took place in early August in Lima, Peru. Attracting delegates from throughout the Americas, the event saw the adoption of a number of technical guidelines,proposals to harmonise others and a presentation for the harmonisation of the administrative procedures for the import and export of veterinary products. The event saw the adoption of technical guidelines for the control of: amitraz; imidacloprid; deltamethrin; cypermethrin; praziquantel; propoxur and fluazuron. For the eighth seminar, delegates agreed to consider the following active ingredients: olaquindox; furazolidon; trichlorfon; chloramfenicol; dipirone; loperamide; phthalisulfatiazol; polydimethylsiloxane; furosemide; carbaril; lidocaine; nandrolone; stanozolol; pilocarpine; neomycin; liposoluble vitamins; bovine somatotropin and clenbuterol. It was also decided to work on the following vaccines: canine parvovirus; porcine parvovirus; canine distemper; canine hepatitis; feline panleucopenia; contagious ecthyma; bovine parainfluenza 3; feline rhinotracheitis and bovine rotavirus.
