This study was conducted to determine the fluctuations of soluble phosphorus (SP) concentrations in the tank water of rainbow trout and how the concentrations relate to feed inputs under a twice-daily feeding regimen. The relationships between SP and dissolved oxygen (DO) were also determined. Fish were fed to satiety with a commercial feed containing 1.07% total phosphorus. The potential leaching of phosphorus from feeds was also examined. It was shown that SP concentrations rapidly increased after feeding. Phosphorus leaching from the pellets was also responsible for increases in phosphorus concentration in the water. There were significant correlations between changes of DO with changes in SP..
