Coal demand feeds stockyard market

At the end of December 2003, the Hamburg-based terminal operator Hansaport ordered a bucket wheel stacker/reclaimer from ThyssenKrupp Foerdertechnik, the fifth such machine to be supplied to Hansaport. The bucket wheel machine will be used on a new stockyard required to cope with increasing throughput as well as growing stockpiles, accelerated by the reduction in German domestic coal mining capacity. Hansaport wanted to have the new unit based on the design of its previous stacker/ reclaimer delivered by ThyssenKrupp in 2000. This policy should shorten delivery time and reduce spare parts' problems.
