Russian spot lease rates for open-top railcars have fallen in March as a result of weaker coal demand and a reduction of other types of bulk cargo transportation. The average open-top railcar lease rate in short-term agreements for coal transportation in Russia has fallen by Rbs50/d (76￠/d) to Rbs2,100-2,350/d, excluding value-added tax (VAT), market participants said. Meanwhile, long-term lease rates are unchanged in March from February at Rbs1,850-1,950/d, excluding VAT.
