The synthetic and generally toxic dyes derived from the textile industries are a particularly problematic class of aqueous pollutants.Their removal often requires advanced oxidation processes,among which aerobic photocatalytic treatment using TiO2 has been extensively investigated.A.V.Puga et al.explore a solar photocatalytic treatment combining the degradation of structurally diverse dyes(rhodamine B,Reactive Orange 16,or Auramine O)with energetic valorization by H2 production on M/TiO2(M = Au,Ag,Cu,or Pt).
