ESTEE LAUDER COMPANIES SUFFERS NET LOSS OF $6M

Estee Lauder Companies has revealed it made a net loss of US$6m in the third quarter of 2020 after being forced to close stores due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The owner of Too Faced, Darphin and La Mer, reported net sales of $3.35bn, down 11% on the $3.74bn it made in the same quarter last year. Turning a profit of $555m in Q3 2019, the company's President and CEO Fabrizio Freda explained that the "complex and unprecedented environment" had impacted business, although there were some "bright spots".
