Standards changeover

Precast concrete pipelines have been manufactured in the UK in what we would recognise as the modern form for well over a century. During the 1930s, early British Standards for concrete pipeline products were published, eventually leading to BS 556 Concrete cylindrical pipes and fittings including manholes, inspection chambers and street gutties.
