1. A Local Sustainable Transport Fund - ￡560m Local Transport Authorities can apply for the funding which is geared at projects making public transport more attractive for localised short distance journeys. The UK DfT has published guidance on the assessment Criteria (which Local Authorities are likely to mirror in any downstream funding arrangements). Outputs need to be delivered within the life of the fund (i.e. by the end of 2015). 2. Growing Places Fund - ￡500m The funds are to be allocated imminently and will be distributed in this financial year to Local Enterprise Partnerships around England. The fund's overriding objective is to generate economic activity, prioritise local infrastructure and set up a revolving fund which can be used to make further investments.
