摘要

THE total number of piracy and sea robbery incidents in Asia fell 15% last year, although armed attacks on vessels passing through the Singapore Strait remain a problem, according to an annual report. The Singapore-based Regional Co-operation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (ReCAAP) said there were 82 armed robberies against ships reported in Asia last year, compared with 97 in 2020. There was no piracy incident in the region during the year.
