Watson Farley & Williams names new maritime sector head

WATSON Farley & Williams, the international law firm, has named George Macheras as joint-head of the global maritime sector. He replaces Lindsey Keeble, who takes up the role of managing partner on February 1, according to a statement. George Paleokrassas, who becomes a senior partner on the same date, will remain in his role as global maritime sector co-head. Mr Macheras, who was made a partner in 2018, advises on all aspects of ship financing as well as on commercial matters relating to the sale, purchase, employment, and operation of all maritime asset classes. His clients span the shipping and offshore industries, including financial institutions as well as shipping owners, managers, and charterers.
