India fines Japanese shipping groups on cartel charges

COMPETITION authorities in India have charged four Japanese shipping companies in connection with alleged cartel practices linked to car carriers. NYK Line, K Line, Mitsui OSK Lines and Nissan Motor Car Carrier face fines for "indulging in cartelization in the provision of maritime motor vehicle transport services" for various trade routes, the Competition Commission of India said in a statement.
