摘要

At the time of writing, it is just a few days following the "No" vote in the Scottish referendum on independence. Although most infrastructure contractors and investors remained tight-lipped during the campaign, many are now probably breathing a sigh of relief, if only given the widely held view that a "Yes" vote could have led to a hiatus in Scottish infrastructure investment. Even so, newspaper headlines are still hot with talk of the Westminster government making good on their hurried pre-referendum promises to give greater powers to the Scottish government. What impact might this have in relation to the Scottish industry in particular and the UK as a whole? In this article, Alastair Dale and Jonathan Hart from award-winning infrastructure law firm, Pinsent Masons LLP take a look at current models for Scottish roads and what (if anything) further devolved powers might mean for highways projects north of the border.
