UK ROADS: EMPLOYING THE RIGHT STRATEGY

The 2013 CBI/KPMG infrastructure survey states that UK businesses' biggest transport concerns are roads. Almost three quarters of respondents had seen a deterioration in local roads, and almost half had seen a deterioration in the motorway network. This is despite large-scale investment in roads, and the generally accepted premise that an efficient road network is essential for our economy. Has our strategy for roads investment gone wrong, or are roads simply suffering the adverse effects of spending cuts during the recent recession?
