Price uptrend to settle in July

By May 20, the average market price for A3 scrap had dropped by 10% in the European part of Russia and by 11% in the Ural Federal District compared to late April. The shift in the demand-supply balance towards deficit will be the main reason for steelmakers to begin a scrap price rally in the forecast period. Because of the epidemiological measures, there was no seasonal upturn in scrap collection, while a significant price decline (of?RUB 2,000/t on average) in May, which was prompting an active outflow from scrap yards, can only make the situation worse.
