BAKU STEEL COMPANY DEVELOPS COIL AND PLATE MILL CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

On December 5, Baku Steel Company (BSC) and China CAMC Engineering signed a $1.17 billion contract for construction of an integrated steel mill on a 93 ha plot in Ganja, Azerbaijan, Metal Expert learnt from the Chinese company’s press release. Azerbaijan Integrated Steel Mill Complex was established in early 2018 for development of the project. The agreement is to be approved by the authorities of both countries and is expected to come into force at the beginning of 2019. To date, advance payments have been made and funding has been secured. The schedule and the scope of works are yet to be specified.
