Indiana Rail Road Assumes operation of Former Canadian pacific Rail Line

Following months of negotiation, planning and regulatory approval, The Indiana Rail Road Company took possession of Canadian Pacific Railway's former Latta Subdivision on Saturday, May 27. At 8:00 a.m. EDT, Canadian Pacific managers officially transferred operations to the Indiana Rail Road, which acquired the line in an agreement forged late last year and approved by the U.S. Surface Transportation Board in April. The sale includes some 93 miles of mainline right-of-way, and 335 new route miles with direct connections to the Chicago gateway, Louisville, Ky., and Ohio River ports. The line is now officially known as Indiana Rail Road's Chicago Subdivision.
