This is a little academic but you may begin to read articles about BTE and I thought this would be a good time to provide an introduction. All industries have jargon and acronyms and it's especially true in the heavy truck industry which has changed so much in the last decade. This background provides insight into why all of the new technologies (turbos, advanced EGR, waste heat, aero, etc.) are being developed for heavy trucks and provides an understanding of how the impact of the new technologies is being measured. Horsepower won't go away and radiators won't necessarily get bigger. But here is an opportunity to understand the terminology when you come across it.
