TERNIUM ORDERS VERTICAL COMPACT COILER FOR NEW PLANT IN COLUMBIA

Ternium S.A. has awarded SMS Group with an order to supply vertical compact coiler for its new 520,000 tpy rebar mill at Ternium del Atlantico in Palmar de Varela municipality of Colombia, Metal Expert learnt from the contractor’s press release. One of the main features of the line is that it produces compact coils directly coiled in vertical posi- tion, consequently eliminating the need for turning coils. It reduce the process cycle time as all coils are formed in the final position and are ready to be stored immediately once coiling and cooling have been completed. Meanwhile, the compact weight of the coils of up to 3 t is “ideal for storage, transport and handling,” according to the contractor.
